     Dr. Mark K. Holcomb is a native Texan, residing in the Clear Lake area with his wife, four daughters, and two grandchildren. Dr. Holcomb has been practicing in the Clear Lake area since 1980.

     Dr. Holcomb attended the University of Texas at Austin for his undergraduate studies from September 1969 - June 1973. There he obtained his bachelors degree with honors in Zoology. He attended the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, Texas from July 1973 - February 1977, graduating first in his class. To further his education in dentistry, he went on to specialize in oral and maxillofacial surgery, a four-year residency program. He attended the University of Texas Southwest Medical School, where he served his internship and residency at Parkland Hospital, John Peter Smith Hospital and Dallas Veterans Hospital. After completing his residency program he and his family moved to the Clear Lake area, where he began practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery in 1980. Dr. Holcomb received his board certification with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons on March 25th 1982.

     Scholastic honors received: Alpha Omega Award-1977, "attaining the highest scholastic average during prescribed years of study at the University of Texas, Dental Branch 1973- 1977"; “Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award –1976”; “Mosby Scholarship Award, 1976-1977”; Omirron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society; Distinguished Achievement Award 1977, Southwest Dental Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

     Previous appointments held: Resident, Parkland Hospital, Dallas Texas; Chief of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department, Christus St John Hospital; Chief of the Dental Department, Christus St John Hospital; Member of the Credentialing Committee, Christus St John Hospital; Member of the Credentialing Committee, Clear Lake Regional Hospital.

     Memberships: American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the 9th District Dental Society.
